The scene is common. Mom spent the afternoon preparing this delicious birthday cake is almost too good to be eaten. “Let’s start with a picture!” Says the photographer of the family.

The technological revolution, which held bank in the recent past and which still dominates the scene, determined the progressive decline of many devices in common use that until recently had first played a leading role on the world stage.

One of the most visible changes has affected the field of photography where traditional machines were slowly supplanted by digital ones, preferred by users for the versatility and convenience. The abandonment of the film in favor of the card was introduced as a result of different needs in terms of how conservation and cataloging of images. The exclusive use, in previous years, the equipment running through roll calls for the development and printing on the shots executed, including the dissemination of traditional wallets made of transparent plastic. These media, however, clearly not suitable for archiving multimedia files were soon replaced by ad hoc electronic devices, namely the so-called digital photo frames.

In that regard a significant question arises: what was the main factor that caused this epochal change? The answer is very simple: ease of shooting. The machines based on digital technology, in fact, they imposed severe limitations on the user, which is not bound to the reduced ability of a film had the opportunity to indulge creating hundreds of photos in one session.

The high number of captured images, therefore, made it uneconomical to print – unlike what happened previously – and into downloading the personal computer, an instrument that responded poorly to handling requirements.
